Containers and play

Surprisingly, I have noticed that DD2 upon seeing any box/container, tries to put her hand into it and take out any objects present in it. If there no objects, she tries to find some around her and put it in. Having noticed this, I sometimes place size appropriate objects around her and just watch what she does from a distance.

If the lid is closed, she asks me to open the lid. I unscrew and loosely put the lid over the container.

She puts her hand in, remove any items out of it, put them back in, put the lid back. REPEAT.
